Abstract Background: Trigeminal neuralgia (TN), is a neuropathic disorder of the trigeminal nerve that causes episodes of intense pain in the eyes, lips, nose, scalp, forehead, and jaw, with the majority of cases being unilateral. Purpose of the study: To investigate the effect of low level laser therapy in treatment of postoperative trigeminal neuralgia. Results: There was a significant reduction in the pain intensity after several laser treatments sessions as well as well as the reduction of pain intensity in the Tegretol group as indicated by NRS.
