Abstract Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is a serious and widespread infection due to its high incidence, morbidity, mortality and increased healthcare costs. The objective of the present work is to compare between antibiotic combination regimen containing fluoroquinolone and antibiotic combination regimen not containing fluoroquinolone to investigate effectiveness parameters of patient outcomes to determine the efficacy or the equivalency of the two regimens and to evaluate direct medical costs associated with treatment of CAP patients in the ICU via costs analysis.This study was designed as retrospective observational study and prospective observational study.
