Abstract The current prospective and retrospective cohort study was carried in Orthopedic Department, Zagazig University Hospitals in Egypt and Misurata central hospital in Libya on 18 Patient with post recurrent THR dislocation caused by soft tissue defect underwent dislocated total hip arthroplasty to evaluates the functional outcome and importance of soft tissue reconstruction in total hip dislocations. The initial management of primary dislocated THA that caused by soft tissue imbalance is closed reduction. If the patient has an acceptable stable range of motion and post-reduction radiographs demonstrate acceptable alignment and position of components. Then treatment with external bracing often results in good outcomes.Surgical management of dislocated THA that caused by soft tissue imbalance should be a strong consideration in patients who have more than two times of dislocation episodes, or who have failed conservative management. Surgical options include good soft tissue repair; increase femoral head size; increase neck length; trochanteric advancement and use of a constrained liner in poor soft tissue cases. |
