Abstract The present study was conducted to compare the effect of PRF with TheraCal and PRF with MTA in relieving pain, Dentin bridge formation and maintain the teeth vitality, in which patients were equally allocated at random to receive one of the two materials. Ninety-eight patients with Symptomatic Pulpitis or Traumatic exposure in posterior teeth were selected. The patients were divided into two groups, group A and group B. each consisted of 49 patients. Pulpotomy was done for all groups and PRF was prepared and packed inside pulp chamber then covered with either MTA or TheraCal. Composite resin as a final restoration was used. Pain was recorded after 24 hours and 7 days. Follow-up after 6 months and 1 year was also recorded. All demographic data, clinical and radiographic findings and NRS scores obtained from the patients till 1 year were statistically analyzed. Results showed no statistically significant difference in the age, gender and preoperative pain for both groups. Post-operative pain after 24 Hours and 7 days showed a statistically significant difference between both groups. Dentin bridge formation and vitality tests showed also no statistically significant difference after one year. MTA performance was better than TheraCal although statistically it showed no differences |
