The fourth chapter handled the origin of islands before the establishing the High Dam through two main points: first, the morphology of the study area before the establishment of the High Dam and the second, the factors that helped the emergence of islands in the Lake of the High Dam, represented in the flood, river load, characteristics of the river bed, the variation of width and slope. The potential dangers, threats and the development opportunities were analyzed in the fifth chapter in three points: first, one studied some of major natural dangers to which the lake is exposed, namely, high evaporation rates and their impacts on the High Dam’s Lake, the encroachment of sand dunes and their impacts on the Lake. The accumulation of the Nile silt and its influences on the lake, then the coastal waves, climatic changes and its threats on the lake, while the second point depicted the impact of the Renaissance Dam on the High Dam Lake and the third point handled the available benefits from the High Dam Lake represented in taking advantage of the silt accumulations, fisheries and tourism activities and opportunities to benefit in the field of energy. |
