Abstract

Youth hostels in Egypt considered one of the most important institutions of the Ministry of Youth and Sports; they have received all Egyptian youth participating in the activities of the ministry of youth and sports, such as trips, hostels, scientific seminars, etc. This study aims to evaluate training plans to improve the staff performance at Egyptian youth hostels. A quantitative method was used to collect the required data. One hundred fifty forms were distributed to a sample of youth hostels employee in Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada, Sharm Elshiekh, and Alexandria. SPSS V. 16.0 was used to analyze data, and statistical analysis included Cronbach’s alpha, and multiple regression analysis. The findings showed that a training plan is necessary to improve the performance of employees, as a result of the lack of training courses, there is no training plan to improve the performance of employees in youth hostels and the training provided to the employees is not evaluated by the ministry of youth and the training topics provided are not related to the nature of the work of the youth hostels. The recommendation of the study is there should be a complete plan for training staff within youth hostels rooms’ division department. After completing the training period provided by the ministry of youth should put a plan to evaluate this training whether it pays off or not, Training topics should be useful for the employee, meet all his needs, and be relevant to the nature of his work. The benefit of taking training courses is to complete the skills and abilities of the employee, The ministry of youth and sports should draw up a plan for the selection of trainees that is set out on a basis and be unified on all employees and there should be clear criteria for the selection of trainees announced to all employees and the researcher proposes a detailed plan for training employees in the rooms division department.
