Abstract

Background:
The goal of monofocal IOLs with extended depth of focus is to allow patients to provide a fuller range of clear vision without the need for multifocal IOLs. Tecnis Eyhance is an important one that offers sufficient depth of focus to provide the patients with comfortable vision without impairing far vision.
Purpose:
To evaluate post-operative visual outcome by measuring the degree of total ocular aberration and maximum near point of functional vision with distance correction in patients after implantation of the TECNISEyhance IOL.
Methods:
This is a prospective interventional study that was conducted on 34 eyes of 17 patients in the interval between April 2021 and Decembre 2021. Patients who are candidates for cataract surgery underwent phacoemulsification and Eyhance IOL implantation. They did a post operative aberrometry 3 months after surgery.
Results:
This study included 34 eyes of 17 patients, the mean postoperative SE was -0.51 D, the mean postoperative distance corrected near visual acuity was 0.33 decimal notation monocular and 0.42 decimal notation binocular, the mean near distance with maximum visual acuity was 79.47 cm monocular and 74.76 cm binocular, the mean postoperative minimum reading add was 1.6 D
