Abstract Carbon nanotubes form a new material system that promises to be very important for a variety of applications including smaller, faster and cheaper electronic devices. Single-Walled Carbon NanoTubes (SWCNTs) can be described as carbon tubular molecular structures with high length/diam- eter ratio, therefore exhibiting a strong one dimensional character. Elec- trons in SWCNTs are strongly correlated even if the electron-electron in- teraction is weak, which are described by Luttinger Liquid model rather than Landau Fermi liquid in high dimensional systems, A Luttinger liquid has four transport modes, only one of them is charge density mode, hence represent electrical signal propagations along the nanotube, and can be modeled as a transmission line |
