Abstract
This work has been carried out to investigate synthetic potential of the versatile 2-cyano-N-(4-sulfamoylphenyl)acetamide, and 5-cyano-4-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2- methyl-N-(4-sulfamoylphenyl)-6-thioxo-1,6-dihydropyridine-3-carboxamide which were used as a building block for the synthesis of a variety of novel heterocyclic compounds such as 2-pyridone, pyrazole, enaminone, aminopyrazole, aminoisoxazole, pyrmidinthione, chromene, hydrazone, triazene, imino- pyridazinothiazole, aminothiophene, dithiolane, dithiane, thiazole, thienopyridine, hydrazide, pyridothienopyrmidinone, and pyridopyrazolotriazine derivatives and their biological activities
