Abstract Cystic lesions of the thorax have a wide range of differential diagnosis. Those lesions could involve the lung parenchyma, different mediastinal compartments, pleura, and chest wall. The cause of such cystic lesions may be determined by means of cysts site, distribution, content, shape, size and associated CT findings and knowledge of the associated clinical features. MDCT is currently the imaging modality of choice in diagnosis of different cystic chest lesions, being superior to chest radiography in demonstrating the presence and extent of chest abnormalities.
