Abstract This thesis presents the optimal sizing of the renewable energy power system for Reverse Osmosis desalination system at Mersa Matrouh. The software used for the optimization process in this analysis is HOMER. HOMER. This thesis also proposes the combination of a typical hybrid PV-wind energy system with lead acid battery system for supplying the electrical load of a desalination system at Mersa Matrouh. Solar and wind are energy sources and the battery is the storage unit used to meet the load demand. MATLAB/Simulink was used to build the model of the hybrid power system and simulate the system. A control strategy using Neural Network Control (NNC) is being offered and analyzed |
