Abstract The aim of this work is to develop simple, accurate and precise methods for the determination of some antihyperlipidemic drugs in combination with anti- hypertensives and anti-coagulants. The same was applied with some of their co- administered drugs as elderly people suffer from several health problems, in addition, they are fragile towards overdosing, drug interactions, and low metabolic rates, therefore, determination of multi-prescribed drugs was a goal to achieve. The drugs were analyzed in their bulk powder and in their pharmaceutical dosage form either in combinations or in presence of their impurities and co-administered drugs were determined in plasma. Drugs investigated include Atorvastatin calcium and Rosuvastatin calcium (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor), Ramipril (angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor), Atenolol (beta blocker) Aspirin and Clopidogrel (anti-platelet agents) Spectrophotometry was suggested as the most applicable economic method present in all the quality control laboratories. So, two different spectrophotometric methods were applied for the determination of the binary mixture of RS and CP without prior separation. These methods include chemometric methods and mean centering of ratio spectra method |
