Abstract To determine the effect of exercise on blood clotting time in smokers. Assessed by the calculation of clotting time by using laboratory analysis. Forty heavy smokers{u2019} men (30 to 40 cigarettes per day) for at least ten years were recruited for this study, their ages ranged from (30 to 40 years old). They were assigned in one interventional group. Blood clotting time was measured before and after intervention. They received program of exercise with intensity between (65% - 75%) of HRmax and frequency of 3 times/week for 12 weeks. The session consists of 5-10 minutes warm-up performed on the orbitrac at low load followed by training period for 30 minutes and ended by 5-10 minutes cool down. Results: Result showed that exercise training program increased the clotting time with a percentage of 13.53% (P < 0.001). Exercise training was valuable in increasing blood clotting time in smokers so reduce the risk of CVD and stroke |
