Abstract

This work introduces an integrated comprehensive approach that includes the evaluation of different geological and geophysical data, including analysis of sedimentary facies, diagentic alteration, image log covering non-cored intervals, core measurements, formation evaluation, and neural analysis technique (i.e., K-mode algorithm) to characterize the upper Messinian reservoir in the Nile Delta Salma field. In addition, provide an advantageous method that links reservoir permeability and flow zone indicator (FZI ) defined based on core data and logs to be predictable within the un-cored reservoir, and optimize reservoir property distribution within the field. Depending on all reservoir parameters and considering the variation in rock qualities, and rock unit’s performance this study is combined well information including logs, and capillary pressure from cores to determine SW at height above free water and create a water saturation model, to map SW away from the Wellbore for instance geo-models.
Our results show the Abu Madi sandstone reservoir is composed of seven litho-facies containing sandstones that are cross-bedded, massive, and cross-laminated with parallel mud rips and shale according to core and image log analysis.
