Abstract
Ornamental plants (trees, palm, shrubs, climbers, herbaceous, succulents, cactus and lawns) as well as aromatic plants are considered among the important plant materials in the fields of landscaping. Landscape and ornamental plants are an important part of human life. They supply shade and beauty around places of work,homes, schools, markets and shopping areas, highways,long streetsin city gardens and other areas. They also help conserve energy and the quality of air, water and soil. So, the present review was carried out to scanning ornamental and aromatic plants in terms of their landscape utilize in gardens. The landscape use of different ornamental and aromatic plants can be expressed as avenue, barrier, City Street, flowering, foundation, group planting, hedge, houseplant, rock gardens, shade, containers, topiary, wind break, ground covers, bedding or borders. While, landscape value of ornamental and aromatic plants in landscape gardening can be expressed as ornamental foliage, beauty, ornamental flowers, ornamental fruit or fragrance. Aromatic plants are distributed all over the public and private gardens due to the multiplicity of the habit of their growth, colors, and the various flowering times throughout the year (Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter season). Therefore, a survey must be conducted to determine the landscape use and value of these important to determine the extent of their spread and their employment in landscaping.
