Abstract Abstract Geopolymer, as a construction material, draws the attention of the research community as much as the industrial community. Geopolymer has several favorable classifications compared to typical Portland Cement. Geopolymer is an ecologically friendly substance, economic, durable, fire-resistant, steel resistant to corrosion, and simply may be used in synthetizing high-strength concrete. A lot of primary substances might be used to make geopolymer with a suitable concentration of activator solution. In this study, several trials had been made to successfully produce geopolymer with different base materials. The experimental program is designed to investigate the possibility of manufacturing geopolymer concrete using bi-product materials like fly ash (FA) or meta-kaolin (MK) by; (i) Fined the best mix of geopolymer concrete and (ii) Study the properties of geopolymer concrete built on fly ash (FA). In the current experimental program, some variables were studied and tested on different geopolymer concrete mixes as the following: 1) Replacement of ordinary Portland cement with fly ash (FA) or meta-kaolin (MK). 2) Using many ratios of sodium hydroxide to sodium silicate (NaOH:Na2SiO3) to attain the optimum ratio. |
