Abstract

The development of assisted reproductive technologies, including techniques for ovulation induction, artificial insemination, and in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer, gave infertile patients a significant opportunity to deal with their issue .
Ovulation induction, however, has been linked to reports of several undesirable side effects, including OHSS and hypertensive issues throughout pregnancy, potentially as a result of medication use.
Pregnancy-related hypertensive diseases can pose a major risk to the health of the mother and the unborn child due to their sneaky onset and quick progression.
Hypertensive disorders represent most common medical complication of pregnancy, affecting 6- 8 %of gestations.
Increased incidence of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy after infertility treatment could be explained by the underlying pathology which caused infertility, patient related medical conditions as obesity, chronic use of oral contraceptives or the medications used to treat infertility .Limited studies evaluated the relationship between infertility medications and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
The aim of the current study was to evaluate the association between receiving infertility treatment and development of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
To achieve this aim, we conducted this study on 247women who got conceived after receiving medications for infertility.
