Abstract

Web ontology language (OWL) is one of the essential ontology languages which is recommended by the W3C to explicitly represent the sematic of domain knowledge expressions and the connection between expressions that are inseparable from the document and the web application. OWL is modeling to represent or express ontologies Ontology has become a prominent subject in computer science as it functions as clear conceptual knowledge models that make field knowledge available for information systems. Ontology plays a major role in semantic web visibility as ontology presents the semantic vocabulary used to annotate websites in a meaningful way for machine interpretation. As studied in the context of information systems, ontology is borrowed from the fields of symbolic knowledge representation in artificial intelligence, from automated reasoning and formal logic, and from conceptual modeling in software engineering, while also building on the features and criteria to enable the web.
