Abstract

This part includes: characterization of the NC, analysis the data obtained of the infrared spectrum in transmittance mode showed the binding strength of PFM molecules with the MMT that is proved by the disappearance of the peaks of PFM absorption in the frequency zone: 2900-2050 as well as the absorption peaks of at the low frequency region that finger prints of PFM. In addition to the appearance of alternative deeps intense at the low-frequency region spectrum of the NC spectrum with the clear appearance of the vibration absorption peaks of the clay; the Transmission electron microscopy images showed that the particles of the NC looks very smaller as continuous thin layer and the particle size is in agreement with that calculated from X-ray diffraction using Scherer equation, and ranges from: 2.06 nm to 2.61 nm. The latter results showed that the NC has a structure and that the miller indices of the units cells like similar to known crystalline structures from solids database;. The results of the biological activity showed that: the NC have antibacterial activity exceeding the biological activity of the control (Methoprim sulfamethoxazole) antibiotic, and its effect on the Gram positive bacteria was higher than that on the Gram-negative bacteria. The NC had a high antitumor activity at the concentrations: (750, 375, 187.5, 93 μg/L) with the maximum performance at the concentration: (187.5, 375 μg/L); the results of thermal analysis showed the stability of NC compared to PFM as the weight loss due to thermal decomposition is less than the that of PFM.
