Abstract
Hemiepiphysiodesis of idiopathic genu varum in children using screws and nonabsorbable sutures is a safe and effective technique to correct this type of deformity. Adaptability of the device to different geometries of each physis and availability of the instruments used in hospitals with low cost makes it a convenient option for hemiepiphysiodesis. More research is needed to evaluate the efficacy of this technique in correcting deformities around unhealthy physis
