Abstract Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a systemic autoimmune. The Toll-like receptors 7 and 9 gene single nucleotide polymorphisms have been linked to (SLE) in many studies. Our study aimed to identify and compare single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) in the TLR7 (rs3853839) and TLR9 (rs187084) genes among Egyptian. Blood samples from 100 SLE subjects and 100 controls were collected. SLE development was significantly associated with TLR7 rs3853839 CG genotype and the G allele. TLR7 rs3853839 were significantly associated with arthritis, nephritis, oral ulcers, and thrombocytopenia. No association was detected between TLR9 rs187084 and SLE development or signs except for malar rash. |
