Abstract

This study was undertaken to investigate the ameliorative effect of liposomal curcumin in the recovery of pancreatic β- cells and its role in acceleration of the autophagal pathway in STZ-induced T1DM in adult male Sprague Dawley rats, through:
Determination of blood glucose, C-peptide and serum insulin. Determination of oxidant- antioxidant state (MDA &TAC) in pancreatic tissue. Real time-PCR analysis for the gene expression of mTORc1, EIF-2, ATF-6, CHOP, BSP, XBP-1, LC3II & AKT & becline-1 JNK and miRNA expression of mR29b & mRNA-137 P62 in pancreatic tissue (mir-21,mir-29 & mir-125b1-5p)in pancreatic tissue. Histopathological examination in pancreatic tissue. Immunohistochemical examination (LC3, Beclin-1, ATG16L) in pancreatic tissue.
Fifty Sprague Dawley male rats, were allocated into five equal groups each of 10.
