Rural development has received increasing attention from all societies as a challenging and fate issue facing Egyptian society. The countryside has been and remains the core of Egyptian society as the rural population represents an important sector of society, accounting for more than half of the population. But in fact, in our time, rural society suffers from negligence and deprivation. They face blocks of challenges and obstacles that increase day by day under the well-known and prevailing lifestyle and the low standard of living of most of its inhabitants, although it has the most important natural development resources. Therefore, rural development has become a life requirement and a fundamental goal pursued by other societies.
In that vein, the country has realized that real development has taken place only with the development of rural society. Development starts in the countryside, where the development of the Egyptian village is the main starting point for the comprehensive development of Egyptian society. The village’s conditions are reflected in the satisfaction of the basic needs of all sectors of society. The Egyptian country is currently witnessing plans for comprehensive development in all different areas within the framework of the National Vision 2030, including the Presidential Initiative (Life of Dignity) launched by the President of the Republic in January 2019, targeting the villages and areas of greatest need and poverty in Egypt, which is one of the largest sustainable development programs in the world. This initiative has received considerable attention because of its concern for the human life of rural people, who have suffered from the lack of services provided by the country. It also captured community attention; due to the participation of many groups of society in government and community bodies, universities and others.
Study goals:
This study aims at achieving a main object, which is revealing the social, economic, and political determinants of the development in the Egyptian village under globalization. In the light of this objective, a set of sub-objectives are as follows:
1. Identifying the economic, political, social, and cultural repercussions of globalization.
2. Recognize Egypt’s current development trends under globalization.
3. Finding the most important development programs and plans in the Egyptian rural sector at present.
4. Disclosure of suitable future alternatives for the development of the Egyptian village in the light of globalization (alternative strategy
