Abstract
Suicide is a worldwide serious & multifaceted problem. It is a leading
cause of death across all age groups. Suicide is defined as a death from a
self-inflicted act. Suicidal ideation is defined as thinking about, considering or planning for suicide. A suicide attempt is defined as a self-inflicted non-fatal act. The prevalence of suicidal behaviors varied by sociodemographic factors, regions & states. There has been a direct relation between suicidal ideation/attempts and psychosocial risk factors such as exposure to suicide by family or friend, substance use & bullying.
