Abstract Water is fundamental to mankind and all living organisms. The pollutants exhibited in water nowadays are entirely unlike those of the past days due to the industrial revolution and related industrial activities. Water supply all over the world is finite and restricted especially the potable water. Industrial revolution has corrupted the water resources throughout pollution. Textile effluents are one of the pollutants that cause environmental contamination. They are severely polluted with the complex organic and inorganic chemicals which are used during various steps of textile processing (1). It is essential to rationalize and manage the consumption of water (2).Water pollution is one of the serious threats that face the world nowadays. It takes place when pollutants enter water bodies like rivers, oceans, lakes… etc. These pollutants may dissolve, suspended in water or deposit on the bottom, thus causing a decrease in the water quality. This pollution occurs due to many reasons including direct ways like sewage of cities and industrial waste discharge as well as indirect ways like the pollutants from soils and groundwater systems which may contain residues of agricultural activities like pesticides, fertilizers and heavy metals as well as pollution from the atmosphere through raining. |
