المستخلص Aim of the Work: The study aims to evaluate the rule of sleep endoscopy in predicting positional sleep apnea and to compare the lateral head, lateral head and trunk rotation, and to compare the results with the sleep study. Review: A group of obstructive sleep patients had more airflow obstructions, or sleep apnea in a certain position, especially in the supine position. Gravitational forces are believed to be the cause of these changes in upper airway collapse with posture & the condition is considered positional obstructive sleep apnea if there is a difference of 50% or more in the apnea-hypopnea index between the supine and other positions. Patients an Methods : This study was conducted in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Mansoura University Hospitals on 42 patients who were suffering from obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. Results: The results of this study indicate that the best position in which the severity of obstructive sleep apnea was reduced is the right head and trunk position. Discussion: The best position was observed in which the snoring sound reduced, as well as the oxygen saturation improved. Conclusion: The best position is the right head and trunk position , as well as the supine position is not always the worst. |
