Abstract This study included 33 males (82.5%) and 7 females, the mean age was 32.25 years old, 21 cases were of age group (16-30) representing around 52% of cases ,19 were of age group (31-59) representing 48%, the mechanisms of injury were all high-energy injuries and 60% of cases were due to motor car accident. Fractures were classified according to both young and burgess classification system and DAY classification developed 2007. there were 13 cases classified as lateral compression type II representing 32.5%, 8 cases were classified as lateral compression type III representing 20% and the remaining 48% of cases were classified as vertical shear, antero- posterior compression and lateral compression type I. Regarding type of crescent fractures according to Day classification there were 29 cases with unilateral crescent fracture day type II representing 72%, 10 cases had crescent fracture Day type III representing 25% and one case had bilateral crescent fracture Day type III representing 2.5% of all cases |
