Abstract
Intracranial germ cell tumors are malignant brain tumors. Neurosurgical intervention for thesetumors may be required for diagnostic sampling, tumorcytoreduction, or hydrocephalus treatment. Advances in diagnostic imaging, navigational guidance, endoscopic technology, and neoadjuvant chemotherapy have had a significant impact on the surgical strategy for these patients. We advocate the use of endoscopic techniques for tumor biopsy, tumor removal, and third ventriculostomy in hydrocephalic cases
