المستخلص The study aimed to examine the role of meta-creativity as a moderator variable for the relationship between creative potential and irrational ideas, through differences in the relationship between creative potential and irrational ideas, among high meta-creativity versus low ones. The study sample consisted of (N=279) students from the Faculties of Arts, Commerce and the Academy of Arts from the first, second and third teams, where the number of males was (N=63) and the number of females was (N=216). Using the scale of irrational thoughts (by: Albert Ellis, rationing: Suleiman Al-Rihani), the scale of meta-creativity “short version”, the scale of Ideas Negative to creative person’s will (both prepared by: Ayman Amer), Guilford Tests of Creative Thinking (Alternate Uses & Plot Titles), Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (Incomplete figures task, repeated figures of lines and circles). The general results concluded that there is a positive correlation between irrational ideas and ideas negative to creative person’s will, while there is no correlation between creative potential and irrational ideas. There is a negative correlation between creative potential and ideas negative to creative person’s will. Also, there is no correlation between creative potential and meta-creativity, while differences were found between high and low meta-creativity in creative potential, in favor of low meta-creativity. There is a negative correlation between irrational ideas and meta-creativity, while there is no correlation between meta-creativity and ideas negative to creative person’s will, while there are differences between high and low meta-creativity in irrational ideas in favor of meta-creativity. Also, there were no differences between the correlation coefficients on the test of irrational ideas or ideas negative to creative person’s will, which indicates the absence of the role of meta-creativity as a moderator variable for the relationship between the two types of ideas and creative potential. |
