Abstract The stroke system of care is an integrated approach to coordinate and promote the time based delivery of the full range of services associated with stroke prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation within a defined community which adds a positive effect in the reduction of the economic burden and improves the functional outcome of the stroke patients. The World Stroke Organization (WSO) reported that the COVID-19 pandemic is the major challenge interfering with proper stroke services in many countries worldwide, particularly in delayed presentation, and impaired access to stroke services. This work aimed to evaluate the performance of the Tanta Stroke Chain during the period of the study as well as to identify areas of strength and disparities of the system while dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic measures. |
