Abstract It included 45 patients divided into 3 equal groups: By• group I(foam sclerotherapy plus compression)comprising 15 patients treated by Duplex-guided foam sclerotherapy of refluxing perforators plus compression. Perforators were injected using Polidocanol 20mg/2ml as the sclerosing material using the guidance of duplex ultrasound device to aid better visualization of veins, decreasing the rate of extravasation and hence development of complications and also, for better follow up of the outcomes. This group showed the best rates of ulcer healing and decreased ulcer size in shorter durations compared with the other 2 groups. Also, the fewest complications occurred in this group (minute skin necrosis).•group II (PRP injection plus compression) comprising 15 patients treated by PRP injection plus compression therapy. PRP was easily prepared from autologous blood of the patient which was centrifuged to separate the PRP then it was activated and injected in the wound edges. It is an effective procedure but comes inferior to UGFS of perforators regarding the ulcer healing rates, time needed for healing and development of complications |
