Abstract

This thesis consists of introduction and two parts. The first part,
one-pot three-component synthesis of novel fused 4H-pyrans incorporating
2-phenoxy-N-phenylacetamide via the reaction of 2-(4-formylphenoxy)-N-
(aryl)acetamide with one equivalent of malononitrile and the matching active
methylene compounds, such as dimedone, 4-hydroxycoumarine, or 5-
methyl-2,4-dihydro-3H-pyrazol-3-one. And in the second part, synthesis of
novel 2-(4-(hexahydroquinolin-4-yl)phenoxy)-N-arylacetamides and
thieno[3’,2’:5,6]pyrimido[1,2-a]quinolines via Michael addition reaction of
cyclic enamino-ketones with various 2-(4-(2,2-dicyanovinyl)phenoxy)-Narylacetamides in the presence of basic catalyst. The interaction of the
compounds with DNA and bovine serum albumin (BSA) was investigated.
All the structures were confirmed by the structural and elemental analysis.
