Abstract
Ocular drug delivery is a challenge due to limited ocular drug availability after topical application. To maintain medication levels at the target site,new drug delivery techniques were developed. Systems that can provide continuous release of medications at predetermined levels are known as sustained release drug delivery systems. This ensures patient compliance and reach the therapeutic drug levels without exposure to harmful drug levels from ocular tissues.
