Abstract
The objective of this study is to investigate the process capability and loss performance in filling industry. Statistical tools such as control charts, process capability indices and suggested loss performance chart have been applied for determine the quality level and the expected loss of the filling operation products. The mentioned statistical tools and loss performance chart were applied through experimental test results obtained from products of several production lines in the filling industry. The proposed statistical procedures in this study proved to be effective for defining the quality and the loss of the out-coming products in the filling industry when compared with the presently used statistical technique.
Therefore, the proposed statistical tools and the suggested loss performance chart can be used as a quality improvement technique in filling industry for optimizing the quality of the products as well as the economic feasibility.
