Abstract The management of hemodynamically stable patients with anterior abdominal stab wounds has been debated. Different strategies have been adopted to avoid unnecessary laparotomies and the morbidities from delayed intervention. Different techniques to detect peritoneal violation have been introduced; i.e. DPL, local wound exploration (LWE), serial abdominal examination, CT scan and diagnostic laparoscopy. However, none has been considered standard for management of anterior abdominal wall stabs. The purpose of this study is to assess the role of CT Tractography combined with contrast enhanced CT in detection of peritoneal violation, organ injury and evaluate its role in the plan of management |
