Abstract Asthma is the most common chronic inflammatory disease in childhood and some reports have demonstrated systemic inflammation.Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and paracetamol might have serious side effects on asthma. This study investigated the impact of these drugs on Egyptian asthmatic children. It was found that the frequency their use was high (82%). The most common drug used was paracetamol. Most side effects (64.71%) were related to respiratory system. Self-medication was high (83%). and future intention of self-medication with them was very high (98%). The study concludes that the effects of NSAIDs and paracetamol on pediatric asthma might be significant |
