Abstract The main aims of this thesis are as follows: Using the log-gamma generated approach for introducing a new distribution which is called log- gamma Rayleigh distribution. Expansion for the probability density function is obtained. Many statistical properties of proposed distribution are introduced such as: hazard rate function, survival function, cumulative hazard rate function, quantile function, order statistics of the distribution, r- th moment, moment generating function, Rényi and Shannon entropies and maximum likelihood estimates for the distribution parameters are obtained. Finally, two applications are considered to illustrate the new theoretical results and the behavior of the log-gamma-Rayleigh distribution |
