The questionnaire aimed assessing the awareness of General Dental Practitioners (GDP) regarding the problem of oral cancer in Egypt, prevention and early detection of the disease through predesigned 5groups of questions. A descriptive data analysis was performed to obtain the frequencies and percentages for answers of the questions. In general, the descriptive analysis suggested lack of sufficient awareness of general dental practitioners regarding the problem of oral cancer in Egypt.More attention should be paid for developing the continuing education courses and also the dental school curricula should be modified to place greater emphasis on oral cancer prevention and early detection
