Abstract Background: Electronic learning has become one of the fastest-moving trends in education and poses a promising alternative to traditional learning. Aim: The study aimed to design, implement and evaluate the effect of using an electronic course on undergraduate nursing students` satisfaction and academic achievement in ”ethical and legal issues in nursing course”. Design: Quasi-experimental design was utilized to achieve the aim of the study. Setting: The study was conducted at Faculty of Nursing- Cairo University. Sample: The study sample was purposeful sample of (105) students be the experimental group who met the inclusion criteria and the control group conveniently included (263) students. Tool: Four tools were designed to achieve the aim of the study; as follows: I. computer skills assessment sheet; II. the electronic ”ethical and legal issues in nursing” course; III. student’s satisfaction with electronic course questionnaire and IV. the student`s GPA auditing checklist. The results: A high mean % (98.5%) of experimental group students were satisfied with the designed and implemented e- course. There was highly statistically significant difference between experimental and control groups regarding their results of pre-test (t= - 7.41, P=0.00) and immediate post- test (t =29.47, P=0.00). There was a statistical significant difference (t =2.37, =0.02) between experimental and control groups regarding their final exam results |
