Abstract

Feeding experiments were conducted on Trichogramma evanescens proved that cane honey could increase their efficiency. Parasitoid females could tolerate deprivation of host eggs for 12 hours. Sitotroga eggs could tolerate storage at 5{u00B0}C for 20 days and parasitoids could tolerate the cold storage for 20 days. The density 1:3 of parasitoid to the host eggs could be the suitable host eggs density and 3 to 5 females/150 host eggs was the most suitable for the production of effective parasitoids. Lannate had a lethal effect on Trichogramma, while Bacillus thuringiensis was close to water in their effects on Trichogramma. Releasing T. evanescens against Tuta absoluta in tomato fields in Fayoum Governorate in the 2011 and 2012 seasons could be incorporated into an IPM strategy directed towards managing this pest
