Abstract Objectives This study will give an overview on the clinicopathological data of patients with carcinoma of the cervix at gynecological oncology unit at National Cancer Institute, Cairo University, from October 2014 to October 2016. It showed the benefits of neoadjuvant therapy, complications after surgery, disease free survival and overall survival. Patients and methods: This retrospective descriptive analysis involving all cases diagnosed as carcinoma of the cervix and treated at National Cancer Institute, Cairo University from October 2014 to October 2016. Results: This study included 96 patients with the following criteria: Mean age of was 54 years old ranging from 15 to 80 years. The most common presenting symptom was vaginal bleeding. The most common stage of the disease was stage IIb. Squamous cell carcinoma was the most common type. Neoadjuvant therapy was given to majority of cases and most of them showed regression. Surgical resection was performed to the majority of cases. The most common postoperative complication was surgical site infection |
