Abstract
This thesis is concerned with the quantitative determination of some drugs containing heterocyclic rings; namely, propantheline bromide (PB), ipratropium bromide (IP) and vinpocetine (VIN) in its binary mixture with Ü-tocopheryl acetate (Ü-TAC). The aim of this work was to develop different analytical methods which are characterized by simplicity, accuracy and appropriate degree of sensitivity for the analysis of the aforementioned drugs in their powdered form, laboratory prepared mixtures and in their pharmaceutical dosage forms. This thesis contains four parts in addition to references, arabic and english summaries; Part I; General introduction and literatures review of the studied drugs were described. Part II; Thin layer densitometric method and ion selective electrode potentiometric methods were developed for the determination of propantheline bromide in the presence of its alkaline degradation products. Part III; Liquid chromatographic and ion selective electrode potentiometric methods were developed for the determination of ipratropium bromide in the presence of its alkaline degradation products. Part IV; Different analytical methods were described for the determination of vinpocetine and Ü-tocopheryl acetate in their combination either in pure or in dosage forms
