Abstract

This thesis aims to study the distribution of the range of a Wiener process with truncated points as parameters. Some statistical properties of this distribution are calculated including reliability properties, moments, stress-strength parameter, order statistics, Bonferroni curve, Lorenz curve and Gini’s index, estimation of truncated points is made and presenting a data set to Illustrates the properties of this distribution. Searching for a lost randomly moving target among a finite set of different with some truncated state and the effectiveness of this method is illustrated using an application. Also for a target is assumed to move in a finite number of non-identical cells according to a continuous time Markov chain (CTMC) is presented. We found the probability of detecting it. Analytical studies are done to obtain the optimal search plan. We study the applications of truncated and non-truncated stochastic processes, using tables of data that change over time (changing information systems), as well as tables of data in which some values associated with different times are lost. we enter the concept of probabilities and study examples of them and their characteristics and link them to the previously analog concepts. These new concepts help in obtaining decisions using mathematical models in which no codes are used, or converting verbal variables into digital, and this helps to make approximations close to reality.
