Abstract
ASCVD are the most frequent extra-intestinal manifestations of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Pathogenesis is still unclear although several factors have been associated (genetic, environmental, and immunologic pathways). ASCVD manifestations or predictors in IBD patients are heterogeneous, including increased in CIMT , epicardial fat and dyslipidemia ( ACS, stroke and atherosclerosis ) so the aim of the study was to estimate 10 years risk ASCVD in patients with IBD and to clarify the importance of laboratory and non-invasive imaging modalities in early detection and estimation of 10 year ASCVD risk in IBD population compared to heathy population among an Egypt cohort followed at the IBD Gastroenterology unit of internal medicine department in Assiut University hospitals. It was conducted in period between October 2019 and October 2021.
