Abstract
Femto Lasik is one of the most common methods of correction of errors of refraction. It’s advantages include rapid recovery and accurate correction, however during the technique itself the appearance of the opaque bubble layer under the flap make some sort of problem.
After creating femtosecond LASIK flap appearance of opaque bubble layer occurs.The opaque bubble layer makes hazy layer that remains for about 15 to 20 minutes during this period application of excimer laser will be difficult due to destraction of the eyetracker of excimer laser machine so there are two ways to avoid or solve this problem the first one is mechanical spreading of the OBL(opaque bubble layer) and application of excimer laser immediatlely after creation of the flap. But this may also make some interference with eyetracking so the best way to avoid the problem of the OBL is waiting for some time till complete disappearance of the OBL and this study evaluate this effect .In our cases we waited for about between 10 to 20 minutes till complete disappearance of the OBL and then transferring patients to excimer laser machine then elevation of the flap and application of excimer laser.
In our study there were no problems in elevation of the flap after complete disappearance of the OBL.
Our aim in this study was to evaluate the effect of delayed flap separation in femto Lasik surgery on visual and refractive results.
To achieve this target,we studied aseries of 50 subjects (100 eyes) done at TIBA EYE LASIK center in Menoufia ,Egypt. .48% of the studied group were males and 52% were females their age ranged from 20 to 42 years (mean 29.28 years) 64% of the studied group were myopic and 36% of them were myopic with astigmatism.
