Abstract

Background: The adhesive capsulitis (sometimes called the frozen shoulders) is a disturbing and painful condition of the unexplained origin in which the shoulder capsule is inflamed and rigid, causing considerable movement and persistent discomfort and the joints around the glenohumeral joint of the shoulder.. Purpose: to investigate the effects of shock wave versus mobilizing exercise on frozen shoulder patients Subjects and methods:.Fifty patients with adhesive capsulitis had been participated in the study has randomly assigned into 2 groups..: group (A) 25 frozen shoulder patients has received (Shockwave therapy) (Experimental group): group (B) 25 frozen shoulder patients has received (Mobilizing exercises) (Experimental group. Patients are altered in two equal groups utilising the automated approach of the random sequence generator.Visual analogue scale and Abduction range of motion were used for assessment. Results: The results showed that basic demographics revealed no statistically significant differences between groups, P values were 0.099, 0.17, 0.643 and 0.209 for age, weight, height and BMI respectively, the results of this study showed that both treatments showed statistically significant effects in frozen shoulder patients. with more improvement in shockwave group (73.17% and 246.53%). for pain and Abduction range of motion respectively. Conclusion: we can conclude that it is more efficient to apply Shockwave therapy rather than mobilization in frozen shoulder patients even if both produce an effect in pain and range of motion.
