Abstract Oncology nurses in Tanta Cancer Center confronting stressful working conditions as critical decision-making, managing the treatment having serious side effects, monitoring patients having pain and suffering, inadequate supplies, nursing shortage and workload which lead to increase nurses’ job stress, job dissatisfaction, burnout, and decrease work engagement. Head nurses are responsible for creating productive environment through providing emotional, informational and instrumental support to those nurses. Also they responsible for empowering nurses through delegation of authority, enhance accountability, participative decision making, information sharing, skill development, and coaching for innovative performance which increase nurses work engagement.
