Abstract Agriculture as a source of food is becoming increasingly important in a world of diminishing resources and an ever increasing global population. Agriculture is considered one of the main foundations of Egypt’s national economy. Contamination of soil by heavy metals is considered a series problem to the environment. Heavy metals poses many risks to the ecosystem and humans and affects food chain safety, food quality, and the ability to use the land for agricultural production, which in turn affects food security and exacerbates land tenure problems (Gonzalez Henao and Ghneim-Herrera, 2021). There are many sites of soils contaminated by heavy metals with current concentrations above the regulatory levels. Once these metals reach the soil, they are absorbed by plants and may even be inhaled as particulate contaminants, and due to their persistent nature, they may accumulate in both plants and animals over time. There are at least twenty metals, which cannot be degraded or destroyed. These heavy toxic metals produced from the wastes of metal plating industries and industries of Cd- Ni batteries, mining, pigments, and stabilizers alloys etc. The important toxic metals are Cd, Co, Zn, Pb Ni, Cr, Cu and Hg.
