Abstract

Autoimmune skin diseases are a set of disorders that caused by a dysregulated immune system causing the damage of skin tissue. Either autoantibodies or autoreactive immune cells are produced against self-antigens of the skin in the plurality of these conditions. Although the cause of these disorders is unknown, metabolic, genetic, and environmental variables such as infectious agents and toxins degrade skin tissue, resulting in the production of self-antigen, autoantibody attack, and skin autoimmunity. In autoimmune skin diseases, immunological dysregulation is linked to T helper 1/17 (Th1/Th17) polarisation and the failure of regulatory T cells to suppress immune responses..( Dayasagar et al.,2019). Psoriasis is a dermatologic autoimmune disease in which environmental and genetic variables interact to generate the illness. Psoriasis is a non-infectious, dry inflammatory condition with normal skin that affects the entire person’s system (Samuel et al.,1986). It’s hereditary in the vast majority of cases and is identified by marginated scaly and erythematous plaques that develop in a rather symmetrical pattern.
