Abstract Two pot experiments were conducted at faculty of agriculture Tanta University, El.Gharbia Governorate, Egypt during winter season 2018/2019. The factorial experiments were carried out in a complete randomized block design (CRBD) to study the effect of six type of nutrient solution formulations. (Hogland 100%, Hogland 50% + 50% Compost tea + Spirolina extract, Hewite 100%, Hewite 50% + 50% Composttea + Spirolina extract, Cooper100%, Cooper 50%+50% Compost tea+ Spirolina extract and the effect of substrate (sand, peat moss, + perlite (1:2:1), vermiculite , peat moss + perlite (1:2:1) on spinach and squash crops. The obtained results showed a clear variation in the chemical and physical properties of different media and nutrient solution after plants harvesting. Plant height and plant weight of spinach and squash values were significantly affected by different nutrient solution and growth media. The highest values of these parameters were obtained by the mixture of /( vermiculite+ peat moss+ perlite) (1:2:1), On the other hand ,the lowest values of these parameters were obtained by the mixture of media (sand +peat moss + perlite) (1:2:1) this mixture of nutrient solution + 50% Compost tea+ Spirolina extract achieved the highest values of elements percentage for spinach and squash. This results and of many researches concerned with the effects of the soilless culture on vegetable crops yield are considered, one can concluded that the vegetable yield and its growth changed according to nutrient solution content and substrate, and the plants had better growth performances in soilless culture. |
